Edumedha is the philanthropic initiative of Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), Rohini Sector–5, established in 2010 with a mission to create meaningful and sustainable change in the lives of underprivileged communities. The word “Edumedha” is derived from two roots — “Edu” meaning Education and “Medha” meaning Intellect or Wisdom. Together, it symbolizes the power of education to enlighten minds and transform lives and guided by the belief that education and skill development are the most powerful tools for social transformation, Edumedha focuses on empowering marginalized youth and children. Its initiatives are designed to build inclusive pathways for education, skill enhancement, and dignified livelihoods.
The core strength of Edumedha lies in its market-driven skill training programs, specifically designed for youth from low-income backgrounds. These programs are aligned with current industry requirements and job market trends, equipping learners with both technical and soft skills essential for sustainable employment. Training domains include Sales & marketing, office management, beauty and wellness, computer literacy, and communication skills. Edumedha also provides placement assistance, helping trainees secure suitable employment and contribute to their family incomes, trained over 22000 beneficiaries till date.
Beyond skilling,Edumedha plays a vital role in educational upliftment. It actively supports orphaned and abandoned children residing in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) by improving their academic performance and foundational learning. A team of expert educators implement level-wise customized learning modules in core subjects like English, Science, and Mathematics, using interactive and creative teaching methodologies. Periodic assessments, workshops, and activity-based learning sessions are organized to keep students engaged and motivated.
Another progressive initiative under Edumedha is the Senior Citizens Recreational Club, envisioned as a social inclusion platform for the elderly. The club provides senior citizens with opportunities for intellectual, physical, and emotional engagement, fostering a sense of community, purpose, and well-being.
To broaden its reach and impact, Edumedha collaborates extensively with NGOs, government bodies, educational institutions, and corporate partners. It conducts community mobilization drives, awareness campaigns, scholarship camps, and talent exhibitions to ensure holistic development and exposure for its beneficiaries.
